In Academic Year (AY) 2012, a bylaws document was compiled from existing Harvard University bylaws and Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Harvard University policies that addressed individual components of our governance. After review by the Harvard University Office of General Counsel, it was approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and was ratified unanimously by the Faculty Council on November 7, 2012. This document is subject to amendment by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine after consultation with the Office of General Counsel and upon the vote of the Faculty Council. The Faculty Council has amended this document on May 11, 2016, March 7, 2018, December 12, 2018, and February 12, 2020.
